Seal coolers are used on high pressure bearing seals on pumps and can be offered a Natural Convection cooler using just ambient air or the Air Blast type of cooler where an impeller forces air across the finned surface. We offer full thermal and mechanical design and in-house manufacture. Seal coolers have externally and internal finned tubes and fan/motor arrangements providing either a forced airflow. Air Blast coolers can be offered as a single block design, or twin designs as side by side or back-to-back options. Coolers also be provided with a second fan/motor arrangement to provide duty/stand-by running.
Each seal cooler is a bespoke design to suit the fluid to cool and the thermal requirement and considers any client specifications. Supplied to ASME, U stamp can be offered, along with EC Directive compliance (UKCA or CE marked) and API682 on request. Coolers are generally vertical type matrix but can be offered as horizontal on request.
Offered in 316/L, Duplex or Super Duplex stainless steel, with and external surface – Aluminium ribbon type or SS wire loop type, copper wire loop is also an option. Whilst performance is improved using internal turbulators. Tube blocks are mounted in a simple casing assembly that can be either carbon steel with an offshore paint system or stainless steel with P&P or painted finish.
SHE can offer a full range of NDT (RT, UT, PD, MPI) and PMI etc. to meet end client's needs. We can consider a range of fluids to cool from derivatives of oil and water (water/glycol) to the more specialised such as Royal Purple, Duraclear, Dowtherm etc. Compliance with end clients' specifications - Aramco, KOC, ADNOC etc., and certified to ASME U stamp, CRN (Canada), Malaysian DOSH and other international standards is offered.
